A lot of the reading material I used in this assignment I have recorded previously, however I also treated myself to a new book recently.
This is a marvellous publication and covers many materials to use as print blocks – from wood and lino to collaging with easy to find and organic materials. I gives a range of ideas for creating blocks from sketches of every day items, how to gauge what to include and what to leave out, observation of form and shape, etc.. Throughout there are also many images, unfortunately all black & white, of both completed artworks and those in progress. It’s an excellent resource and I still have much of it to read – many more tips and techniques to discover.
