Dandelion Clocks

Just a bit of fun.

With all this printing I haven’t done much stitching lately.  However I was asked to make a small piece showcasing the 1950s.  After much research I came across some fabulous retro fabric entitled Dandelion clocks.  Using this as my base I started to think about how I could interpret it as a layered and stitched piece.

EI Sk 5And here it is …..

1950s finished smallGreen crinkle organza was free machined very roughly to the cream silk cloth.  Sequin and crystal organza  ‘sandwiches’ were Vliesofixed in place and stitched with Perle 8.  Size 11 beads were dotted on the blooms to add sparkle.

Simple but effective and it achieved the result required by the recipient.
