Project 4 – Stage 2 Preparation Supplementary

Reverse images.

Reverse imagesWhen putting my work away from the last exercise I saw that the Sharpie markers had been fully absorbed by the paper I was working on and I had some brilliant reverse images on the back.  What a bonus!

I particularly like the top left design as the focal interest has changed dramatically.  On the original my eyes go to the big black spots first, whereas here I look at the swirls in the bottom left corner and work my way up and around the piece.

Cropped original

Interesting that the purple pen hasn’t come through on the other sample despite being the same brand as the others.  This design hasn’t made such an impression on me and I wonder whether it is because, being a fully filled drawing, it hasn’t got a definite focal point or area of interest.
